Dear

As you are probably aware, progress at the park is being made at a rate that, by far, exceeded our modest expectations.  It also appears that everyone is pleased with the building standards thus far.

A good many owners have expressed the desire to establish minimum building standards, so as to protect the aesthetics and equity values of all our properties at the Air Park.  Jean and I certainly agree that this is an excellent idea.

After much deliberation and consultation (with as many of the existing owners as we had occasion to come in contact with) it was felt by all concerned, that an Architectural Committee be formed for the purpose of establishing some general, but nevertheless particular guidelines, with respect to the type of buildings to be placed on the lots; not only the ones already purchased, but on unsold lots as well.

The committee consists of Jim Whitty, Jean Whitty and Michael Whitty, (being three resident owners) constitute this committee.

It is not the intention of this committee to hinder or slow development in the Air Park.  It is the intention, however, to formulate guidelines and to implement a policy focused on providing an attractive facility, tastefully designed, with a view to making all our properties something to be proud of and attractive to other persons who share our aspirations.

At this point, we wish to stress that we do not have a long list of “cans and can’ts”.  We thought for the first short while that the mandate of the Committee could be entrusted to the good sense and sound judgment of the three lot owners; and, that over the next several months (possibly years) some generally acceptable building standards would not only be formed, but included as a minimum requirements for those persons who have not yet built.

We wish to stress  that it is our intention to be flexible and , to the extent possible, accede to the reasonable request of any lot owner wishing to build as long as the construction will result in an attractive facility, tastefully designed, and completed (at least on the exterior) within a reasonable time.

It will therefore be necessary for lot owners wishing to build, to submit their plans to this committee.  The Committee will take no longer than 21 days to reach its decision.  Any two of the three committee members may reach a decision.

We wish to stress that this committee’s guidelines are not for the purpose of determining building size or cost.  The main purpose of this committee is to ensure that all construction will be complimentary to the Air Park and to the Air Park property owners.

As a prerequisite to purchasing a lot; please sign, date and have witnessed this document as an acknowledgment that you have been informed of the Architectural Committee and you are in agreement that you will submit your plans for any development or construction to the Committee for their approval prior commencement.

We trust that you do welcome the establishment of this committee.  We believe this committee will help you realize our modest goals and in the long run be of a great benefit to us, our families and the Air Park.  I look forward to your reply and would very much appreciate any comments or concerns which you would like to make in this matter.

Yours truly – Jim, Jean & Michael Whitty
